Francophone Mobility Work Permit
Francophone Mobility is an LMIA-exempt work permit category for French-speaking workers destined for employment outside Quebec. It supports federal goals of increasing francophone immigration outside Quebec.
Eligibility
You qualify if:
- ● You have a job offer from a Canadian employer located outside Quebec
- ● Your French language ability is at least NCLC 5 (typically demonstrated through TEF or TCF)
- ● You will work in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation
Why This Is a Big Deal
No LMIA required. The employer doesn't need to advertise the job to Canadians or pay LMIA fees. Processing is significantly faster than LMIA-based pathways.
Path to PR
Once in Canada under a Francophone Mobility permit, you build Canadian work experience that can lead to PR through Express Entry CEC (with category-based French draws having much lower CRS cutoffs).
